In the Garden - Concietta
I forget about everything else, the fresh air, the
garden, look,
like the plants they are my friends.
And if I feel sick, I like to stay inside
and do crochet, knitting and everything, but
I cannot stay inside
for long,
something be on my shoulder and call
me in the garden.

And if I find
a little plant
in a small pot,
I say, 'Gee you no good, you have to
be in a big pot!' And most of the time I forget to come
inside, because they keep me there.

See this plant? I picked her up from Apollo Bay, just
a little piece like this, and
it's grown mad!
I talk to my plants, I say, 'Hey you
don't do very well, you have to do something to make
me pleased, and
tell me what you
need to help.
You need a bit of fertiliser, or big
compost?' You know, things like that.

I got the kitchen stuff, and I work in the garden,
all the things I have pass the time, I come in and dig
her up like the ground, or mix her up, and I fill up
the pots. That's it, that's my job, and my time,
keeping me happy.
