Smoking Ceremony
People smoke a place when someone dies. Smoking heals and purifies
people - it enters them and strengthens them when they feel sad
or weak. Special leaves are used for smoking.
In ceremonies for the dead, those who take responsibility for a
service are the brothers or sisters of those who died.
The old men are calling out to the spirits of the dead to let them
know that the group have come as family and friends.
